Key strategic directions

At the beginning Salesforce.com has been very successful because they have had a kind of a monopoly. Salesforce.com was founded in the year 1999 and at that time they have been the only company who was offering that kind of business service. To continue the growth path and to have a stable market position Salesforce.com is trying to do the following things as it is mentioned in the annual report:

  1. Salesforce.com will extend their existing CRM applications and extend it into new functional areas within CRM.
  2. Salesforce.com is trying to pursuing new customers and new territories aggressively.
  3. They will develop deep relationships with their existing customer base.
  4. Salesforce.com will continue to lead the industry transformation to cloud computing.
  5. Encourage the development of third-party applications on our Frorce.com cloud computing platform. Due to that strategic directions, Salesforce.com is able to successfully cope with the future. (Salesforce.com, 2009)
